The appearance of these little creatures in the house is very burdensome for its members. First of all because of their large number. However, there are some good ways to get rid of them. Two kinds of ants are usually found in our apartments:
1. Carpenter ants – they mostly seek shelter in their homes because they come from warm countries. They are characterized by their small size, so they can fit through even small gaps. Their nests are located in floors and other wooden elements. They are difficult to remove because they multiply very quickly.
2. House ants – usually live in tree trunks or wooden houses. A nuisance especially for dacha and summerhouse owners.
The cause of ants in the home is the search for food, which happens to be readily available to these insects in our homes.
Pests hate the smell of fresh tomato leaves. This method can only be used in the summer, but it is extremely effective. It can be used both at home and in the garden. Tomato leaves are a pretty easy way to get rid of ants, you just need to spread them where the ants are found.
Vinegar is another effective method, but for some people its smell may be too strong. To get ants out of your home, you need to spray the areas where the insects live.
The substance used to solder metals looks like chalk and is just as effective. A good solution is to mix borax with boiled yak and place the mixture in the area where these insects live. The poison is carried by them to the nest, which reduces the ant population. The downside of this method is that borax is dangerous to other animals and children. Therefore, it should be used with extreme caution.
Crumble the chalk into small pieces and place it in a place where ants frequent. Another way is to mark places where they move. Chalk poisons the pests, who also carry it into the nest, thereby poisoning the entire colony.
Ants are great at getting rid of spices that we all have in our kitchens. Cinnamon, pepper, salt or baking powder can help get rid of ants, just sprinkle them in the nest and in the crevices where the pests travel. Spices are effective in destroying ants and all their nests.
It is enough to dilute the liquid in a ratio of 3: 1 and then spray it on the places where the ants are. You can also spray the insects with the liquid.
Can be a good trap for ants who like its sweet taste. Just put the honey in a bowl, and then when the ants gather in it to eat, you can rinse it with water.
Regular boiling water is enough to get rid of ants if we have access to their anthill. Just pour a few liters of water into the anthill, thanks to which we get rid of the pests forever.
Ordinary lemon juice is also a good way to get rid of pests. Mixed with water and poured into the anthill, it will effectively dry out the nest. You can also use it to spray places that the insects visit.
Not only spices help to fight ants. Fresh herbs are no less effective. Marjoram, lavender or mint are great for this. Simply chop the herbs and sprinkle the ants along the route. The insects hate the smell of them.
An auxiliary method is to apply glue that the ants will stick to. It is worth choosing one of the above methods in advance.

It is worth remembering that ants are also useful creatures. Therefore, it is not necessary to completely remove them from our vegetable gardens, it is good only to control their numbers. Controlling ants in the garden is easier in some respects than at home. We don’t have to worry about damaging the floor, for example.
To control ants in the garden it is worth using salt, or rather a concentrated water solution. Pour it into the nest, and sprinkle the remaining salt where the insects visit. Sprinkling their nest in the garden with baking soda is also a good solution. It is important that these methods do not have a negative effect on plants.
The main thing is to make it harder for the insects to get into our home. So this is a good idea:
Spray vinegar on gaps around doors, windows, baseboards, fans and places where they can get inside the house.
Spread sliced herbs around the tracks of ants they don’t like.
The walls and ceiling can also be treated with lime milk.
Sealing holes around water pipes and central heating systems.
Sealing cracked walls.
We should also remember to throw organic waste in airtight garbage cans so that ants don’t have access to it. Food in the kitchen, on the other hand, should be kept in an airtight container. Insects won’t visit often if they don’t have enough to eat. With these precautions, it will be much harder for ants to get into our home. And when they do show up, home remedies will effectively solve our problem with these pests.
